LabAid Cardiac Hospital’s Dr Zahirul Islam Siddiqui told bdnews24.com that they infused blood on Friday to increase his haemoglobin level.
The 68-year-old parliamentarian is suffering from a kind of heart problem due to his low haemoglobin level in the blood, he said.
He was hospitalised on late Thursday night. Sengupta is an old heart patient.
He was last hospitalised in January this year for irregular heartbeats.
