Thirty-seven people have died with coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.
The death toll now stands at 1,012 and the death rate at 1.35 percent, Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, said during a briefing.
Three thousand one hundred and ninety people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of infections detected in 24 hours.
The latest figures take the total number of infections in the country to 74,865.
A total of 15,965 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours, Dr Nasima said.
A total of 538 people were put under isolation in the last 24 hours, she added.
Among the deceased, 33 were male and four female, she said adding that 25 were from Dhaka, seven from Chattogram, one from Sylhet, one from Rajshahi, two from Barishal and one was from Mymensingh division.
Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, three between 31-40, five within 41-50, 10 within 51-60, 10 between 61-70, seven between 71-80 and one was between 81-90 years old, Dr Nasima also said.
