‘Turn off mike over rude remarks’

For once, both the Treasury and Opposition MPs have reached a consensus in Parliament.

After exchange of heated words between the opposing lawmakers on Sunday, the both sides urged Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday to turn off the mike if anyone tried to make indecent remarks.

The Speaker also told the both camps to refrain from launching personal attack on the MPs, and making rude and unparliamentarily remarks.

Sunday’s Parliament session witnessed a heated debate for a while between the ruling and opposition lawmakers over following some “inappropriate” remarks of BNP lawmaker Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papiya centring on Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
