Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman will be brought to book some day.

She said this while answering to a question of a journalist at a press conference at her official residence Ganabhaban.

The PM held the press conference following her visits to Japan, Saudi Arabia and Finland.

When asked about bringing back Tarique Rahman, who had been sentenced to jail for life in the 21 August grenade attack case, Sheikh Hasina said a total of 28 people, including Ivy Rahman were killed that day and he is also involved in ten truck arms smuggling case.

“Yet we see some people shedding crocodile tears for them.”

“We are discussing with the UK government ways to bring Tarique back. They own a huge amount of money. They always try to create problems,” the PM said.

About a pilot reaching Qatar without passport, the prime minister said, “I have ordered the airport authorities to be strict in terms of immigration.”

On her visit to Japan, Sheikh Hasina said Japan had assisted Bangladesh before and after the independence.

She also mentioned that a deal of $2.5 billion was inked with Japan.

On her Finland visit, Sheikh Hasina said, “Finland is advanced in the ICT sector. We have invited them to invest here.”
