SI Anwar on two-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain on a two-day remand in a case filed for shooting a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver over extramarital affair.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossain passed the order on Thursday afternoon after DB Inspector ,also the investigation officer of the case Humayun Kabir, sought a 10-day remand.

On October 19, Shah Alam, 27, was shot in the legs in the capital’s Agargaon area and later shown arrested in an arms case.

Shah Alam’s brother Md Golam Mostafa filed a case in this connection on Wednesday.

Shah Alam is now undergoing treatment at National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor) in Agargaon.

Anwar, who hails from Shariatpur, joined the Bangladesh Police as sub-inspector in 2007.

He was working with the police station over a year.

Earlier, he worked with Mohammadpur and Adabar police stations in the capital.
