Police recovered his hanging body after breaking open the door of his room
A student of Rajshahi University has been found dead at his room in a shared accommodation in Rajshahi city’s Amjad intersection area.
The deceased is Firoz Kabir, a third year student of Applied Mathematics Department, who hailed from Gaibandha’s Khanka Sharif area.
Police recovered Firoz’s body hanging from a ceiling fan of his room around 7:15pm on Monday, Motihar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman said.
“Primarily, we suspect that he committed suicide. However, we are investigating the matter,” he said.
Police and his flatmates said Firoz was not responding to their calls since afternoon.
“Later, police recovered his body after breaking open the door of his room,” they added.
The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC said.
The university Proctor Prof Lutfor Rahman along with two other assistant proctors went to the spot.
