‘The genital was cut with something sharp. The injury reached to the bone. It also got infected,’ DMCH deputy director Khwaza Abdul Gafur told New Age.
‘She needs to undergo surgery to restore the genital to its shape’, he said.
Gafur said her condition was not favourable for the surgery now.
He said a medical board, headed by gynaecology department head Ferdousi Islam, was formed Wednesday to ensure proper treatment for the child.
The team would sit today morning to decide the next course of treatment, he informed.
The girl was now fighting for her life at the One-stop

In the afternoon of October 18, the girl was playing near her home in Jamirhat village in Dinajpur’s Parbatipur upazila. Towards evening, her mother noticed that she was missing.
The family searched but could not find her. In the morning, villagers found her lying bloodied and unconscious in a field near her house.
She was first rushed to a local hospital and later moved to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. As her condition worsened, she was then taken to the DMCH on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Parbatipur police arrested an accused, Saiful Islam, 42, Monday night after the victim’s father filed a case on October 20.
Police could not arrest the other accused, Afzal Hossain, 48, the Parbatipur police officer-in-charge Mahmudul Hasan told New Age Wednesday evening.
