Rana Plaza victims demand compensation, bonus

 

The victims of Savar building collapse on Thursday demanded immediate compensation and payment of their outstanding salaries and Eid bonus before the Eid-ul-Fitr.

The demand came from a sit-in programme organised by Rana Plaza Garment Workers Union (RPGWU) in front of BGMEA building in the city.

The workers said the people who are responsible for Savar building collapse, including building owner, factory owners and engineer, must be brought to justice.

They urged the government to confiscate all the property of the building owner and factory owners and then utilize that for the welfare of the Rana Plaza victims.

Garment Workers Trade Union president Advocate Montu Ghosh, general secretary Kazi Ruhul Amin, RPGWU president Akash Sheikh, victims Sabina Khatun, Sheuly Begum and Akram Hossain, among others, spoke at the programme.
