A day after the biggest promotion spree in civil service, the government today promoted 134 police officials in different districts throughout the country.
A total of 21 police superintendents were promoted to the position of additional deputy inspector general of police, a circular issued by the home ministry said.
In addition, 113 senior assistant police superintendents have been made additional superintendent of police.
Also, three deputy inspector generals and five superintendents of police were transferred.
Yesterday, the government promoted 227 joint secretaries, 288 deputy secretaries and 321 senior assistant secretaries in the biggest ever promotion spree in civil service.
The large-scale promotion came three months after the Awami League-backed grand alliance government retained power in the January 5 parliamentary election.
