In its final report submitted on Monday, it also sought acquittal of the Bangladesh cricketer.

The investigating officer, Inspector Halima Khatun, filed her findings to the court of Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Court, said Happy’s lawyer Tuhin Hawlader.

The court is scheduled to hold a hearing on the report on Apr 13.

Happy filed the case in December last year, accusing the bowler of backing off from marriage after being intimate with her for months.

Rubel has been denying the allegations, saying that the aspiring actress was ‘blackmailing’ him.

Happy underwent a medical test that suggested Rubel did not force her to sleep with him as the case brought rape allegations.

The court then ordered a DNA test on Rubel, taking cognisance of an appeal filed by Happy.

The cricketer spent three days in jail before securing bail to shine in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The actress then moved the High Court seeking expulsion of Rubel from the World Cup squad, but her plea was rejected.

In the beginning of February this year, Happy told the media that she had forgiven Rubel.

Speaking with bdnews24.com last month, the actress said she was not keen to continue with the lawsuit.
