Sheikh Hasina asked the citizens to pray for Bangladesh’s continued development

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is currently on a 4-day visit to Finland, has urged all to pray for Bangladesh’s continued socioeconomic development.

“I would like to ask all to pray so that Bangladesh’s socioeconomic uplift and its dignity in the international [arena] continue,” she said in a video message.

She also extended her Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the citizens of Bangladesh and expatriate Bangladeshis, reports UNB.

Sheikh Hasina expressed gratitude to the people for keeping faith in her and re-electing her government. She said the government is making strides in giving dignity to the people’s trust and confidence.

The premier said her government is continuing to work for Bangladesh’s development, and the people have started to get its benefits.

She said the people could make traffic-free trips during their Eid journeys, while proper arrangements for communications in the rail, river and air have been made.

The prime minister also said the government has taken measures so that everything remains peaceful during Eid.

Sheikh Hasina said the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman liberated the country with a dream of bringing smiles on the faces of distressed people.

“It is my only responsibility to materialize that dream,” she said.

The prime minister said she is visiting different countries for various agendas.

“I first paid a visit to Japan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and then went to Saudi Arabia to join the OIC Summit at the invitation of the Saudi king, from where I came to Finland,” she said.

“Though I am currently abroad, my heart remains with Bangladesh, and I always express solidarity with my countrymen,” she said.
