The elections to the bifurcated Dhaka City Corporations will not be possible to hold before the Eid-ul-Fitr, said the chief election commissioner (CEC) on Tuesday.
“It would not be wise to hold such an important election within this short period of time,” CEC Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad told reporters after a meeting at the Election Commission Secretariat in the capital.
