Nagaraik Oikya leaders hold a press conference at its office located in the capitals Segunbagicha area on Monday, demanding that the government take step to ensure Manna’s treatment.

Leaders of Nagarik Oikya on Monday expressed concern convener of the civic rights organisation Mahmudur Rahman Manna fell sick in Dhaka Central Jail.
Zinnur Ahmed Chowdhury, central leader of the organisation, at a briefing at Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad auditorium said detained Manna fell sick on Sunday and became unconscious.
His wife went to the jail to meet her husband but the authorities did not allow her to meet him.
The Nagarik Oikya leaders called on the government to take immediate steps for treatment of Manna who was detained for 10 months without trials.
Manna was picked by a group of plain clothes police from the residence of his relative on February 23. He was shown arrested by Rapid Action Battalion 18 hours after his detention and a sedition charge was filed against him.
Dhaka south convener Abu Bakar Siddique, Dhaka north convener Shahidullah Shikder and others attended the press briefing.
