Muhith rules out any change in the final revised ADP

Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Tuesday denied a news report that the government added Tk. 3,210 crore to the Revised Annual Development Programme for current fiscal year 2013-14.

He said the revised outlay in the ADP remains unchanged at TK 60,000 crore as decided by the National Economic Council (NEC).

Muhith made the remarks prior to the official briefing of the day’s ECNEC meeting at the NEC-2 in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.

A national English daily today published a report that the government added Tk 3,210 crore to the revised ADP of the current fiscal year to make it Tk 63,210 crore, allocating the additional amount for the Padma bridge project.

“The decision of the NEC is final” Muhith added.

The NEC in a meeting on April 3 downsized the ADP to Tk 60,000 crore from the original ADP outlay of Tk 65,870 crore.

The new amount is Tk 7,634 crore higher than last fiscal year’s revised ADP.

Planning Ministry sources said some 1,254 projects were incorporated in the revised ADP for the current fiscal year with 202 newly approved projects. There are some 1,049 investment projects; 174 technical assistance projects; and 31 projects with Japan Debt Cancellation Fund (JDCF).
