The United States Embassy in Dhaka will limit public services on October 29, 2023. Any appointments scheduled with Embassy offices, including routine American citizen services appointments or visa appointments, will be rescheduled at a future date.
- Any gathering, even those intended to be peaceful, could escalate and turn violent. Protest and/or general strike activity may result in enhanced police presence, road closures, and traffic disruptions.
- U.S. government personnel in Dhaka, except for those providing essential services, have been instructed to shelter in place and avoid travel.
- U.S. citizens who may require emergency assistance should contact the U.S. Embassy via the below points of contact.
