Islamic University publishes list of 53 absent students

Islamic University has published a primary list of 53 students who have been absent for more days than can be assumed normal.

Giving the students a deadline of September 20 to contact them as soon as possible, the authorities of the university situated in Kushtia published the list on Friday.

Issuing a press release, the university asked the students to contact the university’s Registrar, Proctor and Student advisor’s offices with logical written explanation about their long absence.

The 53 students are: Choyon Shah, Shahidul Islam, Khaled Shaifullah, Rina Parvin and Sharmin Islam of Folklore Studies department, Sultanul Arefin, Motiyar Rahman, Ariful Islam, Mehedi Hasan Kanak, Jewel Rana, Shariyar Alam, Shibas Kumar Das, Najmul Islam, Najmus Sakib, M Al-Mawun and Musfiqur Rahman of Management department, Shaheduzzaman, Kamruzzaman, Amjad Hossen, Parul Sultana, Ambia Khatun, Raju Mia, Abdul Zabbar, Shahin Alam, Milon Hossen, Hasel Sheikh, Milton Bhuiya, Najmus Sakib and Parvez Hossen of Finance and Banking department, Mehedi Hasan, Mostafizur Rahman, Taijul Islam, Rana Khan and Golam Kader of Marketing department of the university.

“We would take legal steps against these students as per the directive of the UGC and the Ministry of Education if they fail to give logical explanations about their absence,” said IU vice chancellor Professor Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari.

“We’ll publish a final list of the missing students after Eid vacation,” he added.
