Dhaka seeks immediate halt to Gaza atrocities

Gaza death toll reaches 100

Bangladesh has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression and called for an immediate halt of its atrocities on civilians in Gaza.

“Bangladesh is deeply shocked at the recent Israeli

atrocities and violence perpetrated in Gaza resulting in tragic loss of civilian lives,” says a foreign ministry statement issued on Friday.

The statement said Bangladesh maintains its principled

position on a comprehensive solution of the Palestinian question in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, the Arab Peace Plan and the Road Map.

“Bangladesh calls upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further loss of lives and resume dialogue to revive the peace process at the earliest towards a two-state solution.”

Bangladesh firmly believes that the occupation of Palestinian land must come to an end, and the Palestinian people must have their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, the statement added.
