Detective branch of police on Thursday arrested a member of Ansarullah Bangla Team who was on the mission to kill Shuddhaswar publisher Ahmedur Rashid Tutul.
Police identified him as Suman Hossain Patwari, 20. He was arrested at around 2:30am at the airport area. Also carried three more aliases — Shihab, Saiful, and Sajib.
He was one of the six ABT member for whom police had announced bounty on May 19.
Publisher Ahmedur Rashid Tutul, a close friend of slain writer-blogger Avijit Roy, was attacked in his office in Dhaka on October 31 2015.
His publishing house ‘Suddhaswar’ had, among its author secular writer Roy, who was hacked to death on the Dhaka University campus in February this year.
A group of men barged into his office at Dhaka’s Lalmatia.
