Current JS session to continue till Nov 7

 

The current 19th session of the 9th Parliament will continue till November 7 with the Speaker given the authority to increase or decrease the time.

 

The decision was taken at the 24th Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting on Wednesday afternoon held with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Deputy Speaker Shawkat Ali, Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Chief Whip Abdus Shahid, Suranjit Sengupta, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Tofail Ahmed, M Fazle Rabbi Miah, Alhaj Advocate M Rahmat Ali, Rashed Khan Menon and Abdul Matin Khasru attended the meeting.

 

Law Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed was present in the meeting on special invitation.

 

The meeting also decided to pass the two private member’s bills — Torture and Death in Custody (Prevention) Bill 2009 and Living Cost of Parents Bill 2010 — in the current session.
