A homemade ‘bomb’ was found on the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s office in Magura Thursday morning.

On information from police, a bomb disposal unit of Rapid Action Battalion rushed to the spot and defused it around 8:30am, said Maj Jahid, company commander of Rab-6.

The ‘highly combustible bomb’ could cause serious arson to a large area, the Rab official told media after defusing it, reports our Magura correspondent.

Urging people not to be panicked, Masud Ahmed, DC of Magura, said, “Law enforcers are trying to nab the culprits.”

Earlier Tuesday night, Rab recovered a powerful homemade bomb near the main gates of Brahmanbaria Judge Court.

Rab official had said the homemade device was equivalent to 45 powerful grenades. The bomb could have razed at least half of the court building and surrounding structures if it went off.
