The Annual Development Programme (ADP) recorded expenditure of only Tk41,876.88 crore in the first six months (July-December) of the current fiscal year (2025-26), which is the lowest in the past eight fiscal years.
The information comes from a report released Wednesday by the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED).
During the previous fiscal year, when student protests, government instability, and administrative disruptions occurred, ministries and divisions had spent more.
In the first six months of 2024-25, ADP expenditure was Tk50,002 crore, meaning spending this year is Tk8,125 crore lower compared to the same period last year.
Earlier, in the 2016-17 fiscal year, ADP spending had been Tk33,554 crore.
