A new cabinet will be sworn in Sunday afternoon.

The swearing in ceremony will take place at 3:30pm at Bangabhaban, the official residence-cum-office of the president, Cabinet Division sources confirmed to The Daily Star today.

Cabinet Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said today that the new cabinet will take oath early next week. He however did not specify any date.

“But I can confirm you that it is going to happen sometimes early next week,” he said at a press conference at the Secretariat.

President Abdul Hamid is expected to administer the oath to the ministers.

Sources at the ruling Awami League said the new cabinet would have around 30 members.

Most of the existing ministers would be part of it.

The newly-elected lawmakers of the 10th parliament took the oath of office this morning, a day after the Election Commission issued a gazette notification on the polls result of the 10th parliamentary election.
