BD national picked by BSF found dead in Panchagarh

 The body of a Bangladeshi fisherman who was abducted by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) was recovered from the Jamuna River at Shingroad Ratanbari in Sadar upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Akterul Islam alias Nenda, 30, son of Hemat Ali of Pradhanpara village in the upazila.

Locals and family sources said BSF members from Sakatipara camp picked up Akterul from Rantanbari border early Thursday while he was catching fish.

The BSF members threw the body into the Jamuna today noon. Many locals witnessed the incident and informed Border Guard Bangladesh and police of it.

On information, the law enforcers recovered the body, said officer-in-charge of Panchagarh Sadar Police Station Humayun Kabir.

Commanding officer of Panchagarh BGB Battalion-18 said they strongly protested the killing to BSF.
