Activities of 12 medical colleges ‘to remain suspended’

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim on Wednesday said the activities of 12 medical colleges approved by the immediate-past administration will remain suspended until further review.

The minister made the remark while talking to reporters at a press briefing organised at his ministry ahead of Mumps-Rubella Immunizations Campaign.

Over allegation that there were flaws in giving approvals to the medical colleges, Nasim said, “Though the medical colleges got administrative approvals, there needs further review in this regard.”

The minister said they at a meeting decided to review the approvals of the colleges further.

The three-week immunisation campaign will begin on January 25.
