Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son, and her Information Technology affairs advisor, Sajeeb Wazed Joy has said the execution of Jamaat-e-Islami chief and convicted war criminal Motiur Rahman Nizami has been a result of tremendous efforts from the Awami League.
On Wednesday, after the execution of notorious war criminal Nizami, Joy posted a Facebook status regarding the proceedings.
He said the martyrs of the Liberation War had to wait 45 years in order to get justice.
“Last night one of the most notorious war criminals Nizami was hanged. It has taken 45 years to get justice for the 3 million martyrs slaughtered by Jamaat and the Pakistani army during the Liberation War,” Joy said in the FB status.
He also said that the BNP founder Ziaur Rahman had restored the citizenships of condemned war criminals Ghulam Azam and Nizami.
“Ziaur Rahman brought Nizami and Ghulam Azam back to Bangladesh, restoring their citizenship after they had fled the country. His wife Khaleda Zia made Nizami a Minister in her government. Shame on them,” PM’s son said in his status.
Joy praised his mother PM Sheikh Hasina for bringing the war criminals to justice.
“Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has brought Nizami and the rest of the war criminals to justice,” he said.
“It has taken a tremendous effort by the entire Awami League. My thanks especially to our ICT Prosecutors for convicting them and seeing their cases through all the way to the Supreme Court,” Bangabandhu’s grandson said in the social media platform.
