Professor Khaleda Ekram of the Architecture Department of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has been appointed as its first woman vice chancellor.
The Education Ministry issued a circular in this regard on Thursday.
Confirming the appointment, Education Ministry deputy chief information officer Subodh Chandra Dhali told UNB that Khaleda has been appointed as the new BUET vice chancellor for a four-year term.
Khaleda will replace existing BUET vice chancellor Prof Nazrul Islam as his term has expired.
