Newly elected MP from Tangail-8 constituency Anupam Shahjahan Joy took oath of office on Monday.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Senior secretary to the Jatiya Sangsad Ashraful Makbul moderated the oath-taking ceremony.
Deputy speaker Fazle Rabbi Mia, chief whip ASM Firoz, whips Atiur Rahman Atik, Iqbalur Rahim and Sahab Uddin were, among others, present on the occasion.,
Anupam was elected MP in the by-polls in the Tangail-8 constituency held on March 29.
The parliamentary seat (Basail-Sakhipur) fell vacant following the death of AL MP Shawkat Momen Shahjahan, also Anupam’s father, on January 20.
