The National Board of Revenue has extended by another month the deadline for individuals to file their income tax returns.
The NBR’s Taxes policy department member Syed Aminul Karim told bdnews24.com that the returns can now be filed within Nov 30.
The extension has been allowed to help people file their returns, delayed because of Eid, Durga Puja and Haj visits.
He said the official announcement would be made on Thursday.
The introduction of an online filing system has been another cause of delay, according to Karim.
Such extensions have become a tradition, although Income Tax Ordinance makes filing mandatory by Sep.
This is the second extension this year as it was extended on Sep 30 following requests by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers and Commerce.
