As they blocked the Mirpur road and started to demonstrate, police baton-charged and then lobbed sound grenades to disperse them, witnesses said.
Some workers were injured. One Sakhina Begum, 45, and her daughter Shirin were admitted to EXIM Bank hospital.

“We went home on Tuesday evening, came on Wednesday morning and saw the two day closure notice. Nobody was informed about it.”
