The first batch of 200 Bangladeshi workers will fly to Malaysia April 25 for plantation jobs, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said on Wednesday.
“We will get the visa documents from the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka today,” the minister said.
He was talking to reporters after awarding commercially important person (CIP) to 13 non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) for their contribution to the country’s economy.
In February, the government completed selecting 10,000 workers out of 36,670 candidates, who had been selected from more than 14 lakh jobseekers registered online.
