Authorities have rescheduled the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for Tuesday and shifted them to Saturday (April 13), Education Ministry officials say.
Ministry’s Spokesperson Subodh Chandra Dhali informed bdnews24.com of the decision on Monday.
He said the decision to reschedule the examinations was prompted by the BNP-sponsored general strike on the day.
The BNP has called for the strike to protest against continued confinement of its detained leaders after their bail petitions were rejected on Sunday in cases where they stand accused of instigating violence.
This year, examinations of 37 subjects of the Secondary School Certificate were deferred due to strikes enforced by the BNP and its close ally Jamaat-e-Islami.
