Players’ strike a conspiracy against Bangladesh cricket: BCB president
Enforcing a strike without approaching or giving any chance to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to resolve the problems, if any, is a conspiracy against Bangladesh cricket, said BCB president Nazmul Hassan on Tuesday.
The BCB president was addressing a press conference, organised at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Academy at Mirpur, Dhaka, to clarify the board’s position about the cricketers’ strike to press home their 11-point demand on Monday.
He also repeatedly hinted that the players’ movement is a result of long-term planning against Bangladesh cricket.
The president said the strike just before the very important series against India in India delivers a special message.
He alleged that the players did not contact him or pick up any phone calls from the board members as “they (players) know if they approach to us with their demands, we would have met them.”
He also slammed the cricketers for “talking to media without talking to them (the board) about their demands.”
The cricketers have succeeded in tarnishing BCB’s image outside, he added.
Nazmul Hassan also said the conditioning camp for the upcoming India tour will begin on time and hoped players will join.
