82 BNP leaders expelled for contesting UZ polls
BNP has expelled 82 more of its grassroots leaders for contesting the upcoming upazila elections violating the party’s decision, reports UNB.
A BNP press release signed by its assistant office secretary Belal Ahmed said the 82 leaders in six districts — Sylhet, Habiganj, Bogura, Naogaon, Rangamati and Bandarban — were expelled from the party posts at all levels, including its primary membership.
With the fresh ones, the party expelled its 101 grassroots leaders in a week as they all joined the upazila elections as independent candidates breaching the party’s decision.
On Saturday, BNP dissolved its Nilphamari district unit committee due to organisational indiscipline.
According to a party press release, a convening committee of the unit will be formed very soon to carry out its organisational activities.
