Inclement weather caused by a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has forced the authorities to postpone Sunday’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations in Barisal Education Board.
Sunday’s Junior Dakhil Certificate tests across the country have also been suspended.
Inter-Board Coordination Sub-Committee chief Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the postponement to bdnews24.com on Saturday night.
He said the English (2nd paper) JSC test, which was scheduled for Sunday under Barisal board, will be held at the same time on Nov 12.
Sunday’s JDC English (1st paper), scheduled to be held across the country on Sunday, will now be held on Nov 19, Mahbubur Rahman said.
Different parts of the country, including the capital, have experienced rain due to the depression for the past two days.
The depression is likely to cross the coast on Sunday morning, the Met Office forecast.
The Met Office has advised to hoist Warning Signal No. 4 at the maritime ports instead of the earlier Local Cautionary Signal No. 3.
BIWTA has ordered to suspend all sorts of inland water transport services until further notice.
