6th National Council Session Khaleda to sit for crucial meeting tomorrow

Khaleda ZiaBangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia will sit with her party’s standing committee members on Thursday night to finalise various organisational decisions ahead of the party’s sixth national council session, reports UNB news agency.

“The BNP chairperson convenes a meeting of BNP standing committee members for Thursday,” her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan told UNB on Wednesday.

He said the meeting is scheduled to begin at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office at 8:30pm.

Party insiders said the BNP chief will discuss with the party policymakers various proposals sent by different units of the party for its constitution amendment, and seek their opinions in this regard.

She will also finalise various decisions on introducing some new party posts and committees, and increasing the number of posts in the party’s executive committee.
It will be the last meeting of the current standing committee, if no more meeting of the party’s highest policymaking body is held before its national council session on 19 March.
