2 ‘Ansarullah members’ remanded over Niladri murder

A court in Dhaka on Friday placed two ‘members of banned Islamist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team’ on an eight-day remand each in connection with blogger Niladri Chatterjee alias Niloy murder, United News of Bangladesh reports.
Chief metropolitan magistrate judge Molla Saiful Islam passed the order when Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, inspector of Detective Branch of police, produced Saad Al Nahian and Masud Rana before the court seeking a 10-day remand.
Earlier, detectives arrested the duo on Thursday from different areas in the city in connection with the murder.
On August 7, Niladri was hacked to death by unidentified assailants inside his fourth-floor flat at North Goran in the city. He was the fourth Bangladeshi blogger killed so far this year.
On August 10, joint commissioner (Detective Branch) of Dhaka Metropolitan
Police Monirul Islam said Ansarullah Bangla Team might have been involved in the killing of blogger Niladri Chatterjee.
