Hasina Ahmed, wife of BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed, said she wants to meet her husband as soon as possible.
She made this comment at a press conference at her Gulshan residence in the city on Wednesday.
Salahuddin, missing for months, called his wife Hasina Ahmed from a mental hospital at Meghalaya in India on Tuesday.
Following the phone conversation, Hasina confirmed the news to media.
On Wednessday, she faced the media again at a press conference where she answered several questions.
She said she has already applied for an Indian visa. “The Indian High Commission said they are trying to grant the visa quickly. Let’s see what happens,” she said.
When asked if she would go to India by road or by air, she said, “Whichever seems more convenient.”
Asked how she plans to bring her husband back quickly since he has no passport with him, she said, “Let us go there first, we’ll decide what to do later.”
Being asked whether she is expecting the government’s cooperation, Hasina said, “Of course I am. Nothing is possible without the government’s cooperation.”
