A militant suspect has been killed in an explosion in a house in Mymensingh’s Bhaluka, police say.
The ASP said they suspect militants were using the house to make bombs and one of the bombs went off around 5:30pm.
He said the law enforcers saw a body lying in a pool of blood in a room of the tin-roofed house.
Police were yet to enter the house later in the night, suspecting that there are more bombs in it.
They will raid the house after a bomb disposal unit arrives from Dhaka, ASP Alam said.Mymensingh SP Nurul Islam identified the dead suspect as ‘Abdullah’, 35, from Natore.
“But his national identity card carries a different name and address,” he added.
The landlord, Azim Uddin, told bdnews24.com an around 30-year-old man rented the house three days ago.
A woman and two children, who the man identified as his wife and their children, were also with him. The man also told the landlord that they were from Kushtia.
Police have detained Azim, his wife Fatema Akter, and their two sons ‘Ashik’ and ‘Hasan’ for questioning.
