Taking a swipe at BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman for his ‘distorted version’ of history, Railways Minister M Mujibul Hoque on Thursday said in Parliament that the nation would dump him the way a parent disowns his ill-behaved son.
Branding Tarique an agent of Pakistan spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), he said: “Tarique has been hatching conspiracy against Bangladesh from abroad taking money from the ISI.”
The Railways Minister made the remarks while taking part in discussion on the thanksgiving motion on President’s speech.
Mujibul Hoque said action should be taken against Tarique Rahman for his audacity. “They’re not sons of this soil. Action should be taken against them.”
Terming both BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman ‘uneducated’, he said the remarks they are making in recent days came as surprise to the people of Bangladesh.
The Railways Minister said Khaleda can not sleep as the country is marching ahead, people are well-fed and there is no unrest in the country.
“Khaleda has been suffering from a big disease – jealousy. There’s no medicine for this ailment,” he added.
