The visit of Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will create a new scope for resolving the outstanding issues with the neighboring country, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed hope.

The BNP spokesman came up with the remarks while talking to reporters at BNP’s Nayapaltan headquarter before starting his journey for Feni to distribute relief materials and Iftar items among the destitute and flood-hit people.

“BNP hopes that the unsolved issues between the two countries including border crisis and fair share of waters of the common rivers will be resolved through the visit of Sushma Swaraj,” Fakhrul said.

Fakhrul said the BJP government is trying to intensify India ties with its neighboring countries, including the SAARC ones. “Sushma’s Dhaka visit will intensify the ties.”

Sushma Swaraj is scheduled to arrive Dhaka on Wednesday on a three-day official visit.

The Indian minister will make a courtesy call on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Friday morning.
