The newly appointed chief election commissioner, KM Nurul Huda, on Monday said the elections of Comilla City Corporation and Sunamganj-2 constituency would be held on March 30.
He made the announcement after a regular meeting of Election Commission at its office in the capital this afternoon.
Earlier, the High Court in October in 2016 asked to hold the election after the delimitation of the boundaries of wards in the city corporation in accordance with the master plan of the city corporation made in June 2016.
The first election to Comilla City Corporation was held on January 05, 2012 while its five-year tenure expired on February 9 last.
The by-polls to Sunamganj-2 constituency fell vacant following the death of Awami League lawmaker Suranjit Sengupta on February 5.
