Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has taken initiatives forconstruction of a residential house for the family of Bangladesh’s “wonder boy” cricketer all-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz.
“Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has already directed the authorities concerned for construction of the house, and accordingly her principal secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad conveyed the directives to the deputy commissioner of Khulna,” PM’s deputy press secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan told BSS today.
Ashraful Alam said local administration would take necessary steps for construction of the house for Miraz’s family after finding out a suitable place.
Miraz, Bangladesh’s latest cricket sensation, became the toast of a nation with his 12 wickets in the first Test victory over England. The 19-year-old off spinner from Khulna played the key role in levelling the just-concluded two-match Rocket Test Series against the strong English side.
Son of a poor taxi driver, Miraz took 19 English wickets in two Test matches of his debut series. His 12 wickets in the final test helped the Tigers clinch maiden Test victory against the visiting England.
