People no longer to respond to Khaleda’s call: PM

Sheikh-hasina

Describing Khaleda Zia as a ‘repressor and killer’, the prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, on Sunday said the people of the country would not respond to her call any more.
‘The way she had devastated public life, will people respond to her call anymore? The country’s people didn’t like her (Khaleda’s) these destructive activities,’ she said referring to the destructive activities during the BNP-Jamaat’s hartal and blockade programmes.
The prime minister was speaking at a press conference at Ganabhaban to brief journalists about her recent Indonesia tour when she attended Asian-African Conference Commemoration Indonesia 2015.
Sheikh Hasina said she has the trust and confidence in the people of the country. ‘Nobody will respond to the call of a repressor and killer like her (Khaleda),’ she added in an apparent reference to the BNP chief’s electioneering in favour of the BNP-blessed mayoral candidates.
Questioning the logic to cast votes in favour of the BNP-backed mayoral and councilor candidates in Dhaka North City Corporation, Dhaka South City Corporation and Chittagong City Corporation, Hasina said: ‘The way Khaleda Zia and her cadres burned people, the way she ordered doing so, who will cast their votes for them?’
The prime minister mentioned that anyone who has the sense of humanity and conscience will never cast his or her votes for BNP or Jamaat or the 20-party alliance. ‘Only those who don’t have humanity and conscience could be there beside BNP and Jamaat,’ she added.
