Shimla: In the wake of allegations of two Hindu outfits about religious conversions and infiltration by Bangladeshis, Himachal Pradesh police said that neither there were any case of forced conversion nor it had any information of Bangladesh national residing in the state.
Recently, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Durga Vahini had alleged ‘love jehad’, religious conversions and infiltration of Bangladeshis in the state.
However, the police have registered half a dozen cases of inter-religion marriages and four cases have also been registered against Hindu boys against whom charges have been levelled that they kidnapped Muslim girls, ADGP(Law and Order), Sanjay Kundu said here.
Giving details of such cases in the recent past, he said that a case under sections 363, 366A IPC was registered on November 24 last at PS Jogindernagar regarding complaint of a 17 years six months old girl who allegedly informed her mother over telephone that Shabir Ahamed working as a mason/fitter had kidnapped her with the intention to marry without her consent and that she was residing with him in Rajasthan.
A Special Investigation Team was constituted to trace out the victim and the team found that the accused was a resident of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir and the search is on.
Another case was registered at Police Station Sadar Chamba against Mohd Shah alias Bablu in last September for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl aged 16-years.
The accused was arrested and the case sent to court for trial, the ADGP said. Another case was registered in PS Jwalamukhi against one Masood Ahmad Khan (19), for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl aged 16-years. The accused was arrested and the case sent to court for trial on May 24, 2014.
Four cases have been registered in the district involving Hindu boys against whom charges have been levelled that they kidnapped Muslim girls. A case was registered in Police station Brow against Mursaleen alias Munshi, resident of Patiala Punjab for kidnapping a girl.
The accused is absconding but the girl has been recovered and is currently residing with her parents. Efforts are on to trace the accused, the ADGF further said.
