No Bangladeshi hurt in Nepal tremor jolt

No Bangladeshi citizens were reported to be injured in the Nepal earthquake that left 700 dead.

“So far, no Bangladeshi nationals have been reported injured so far,” reads a test issued by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu.

The embassy opened a helpdesk for its citizens living in the country. The embassy took the initiative following a strong tremor that jolted the Himalayan country local time 11:22am.

More than 700 people are known to have died in a powerful earthquake that struck Nepal, wrecking many historic buildings, reports AFP quoting officials.

The quake measuring 7.9 struck an area between the capital Kathmandu and the city of Pokhara, the US Geological Survey said.
