N’ganj killing: RAB member Amin on fresh remand

A Narayanganj court has placed Lance Corporal Ruhul Amin, a member of RAB 11 and one of the accused in the Narayanganj seven murder case, on a five-day remand.

The court of Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Chadni Rupom passed the order after the police produced him before the court with a eight-day remand plea on Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, Detective Branch of Police (Narayanganj) arrested Lance Corporal Amin from his home in Baufol Upazila in connection with the sensitive murder case.

Earlier, he was taken on a seven-day remand on October 8.

The RAB officer was arrested from his home in Baufol upazila in connection with the sensitive murder case on October 7.

On April 27, seven including Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted from Fatullah area in Narayanganj city.

Three days after their abduction, the bodies of six people, including those of Nazrul and Chandan, were recovered from the Shitalakkhya River on April 30. The body of Jahangir, car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the river on May 1.

Three former RAB officials, including Lt Col Tareque, Major Arif Hossain and Lt Commander MM Rana, who were arrested earlier, confessed to their involvement in the sensational seven murders.
