The government has set new office hours for the fasting month of Ramadan.
All government, semi-government and autonomous offices are to remain open from 9am-3:30pm with 15 minutes break from 1:15pm-1:30pm.
The decision was taken at a regular cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday.
Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan informed the journalists about the decision after the meeting.
He said: “The new time will not be applicable for the High Court, Bangladesh Bank, Insurance companies, state owned industries and factories and Bangladesh Railway. The authorities will fix their office time themselves considering their necessity.”
