While patriotism of the initiators of this movement are beyond doubt, Prof Anu Mohammad is missing the point.
Rampal power project is meant to create employment for 5,000-10,000 Indian unemployed youths & ensure a captive market for Indian coal supply. The harbour will become a parking place for Indian Naval vessels, to protect Indian investment.
US$ 6 billion a year is taken out of the country by foreign workers, mostly Indians, as wages !!. Indian company Simplex doing all the Fly-Overs in Dhaka city, employs large Indian work force, depriving local unemployed youths who are left with no choice but to jump into the sea-of-sure-death.
