The government has decided to extend duration of all Primary School Certificate (PSC) examinations by half an hour, a ministry official has said.
Previously students got two hours for each test– now they will get two and half, Primary and Mass Education Ministry’s Joint Secretary Santosh Kumar Adhikari told bdnews24.com on Monday.
“From now on, the tests will be held from 11am to 1:30pm,” he said.
He said the ministry had already issued the order and added, “Copies of the order would be sent to concerned officials.”
National Academy for Primary Education Director General Nazmul Hasan Khan told bdnews24.comthis year’s PSC tests will have 25 percent ‘ability-based’ questions.
”The decision has been taken so that the examinees can properly answer those,” he said.
Last year’s examination had only 10 per cent such questions. “It will increase to 50 percent in 2014 and later each of the question will be ability-based,” he said.
A total of three million fifth graders will appear at the PSC and Ebtedayee Terminal (EBT) Examinations that will start from Nov 20.
