More arms-ammo found at Satchchari forest

RAB official says their drive in the forest will be continued

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel, in another drive, have recovered more arms and ammunition from Satchhari forest under Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj.

RAB officials recovered the arms and ammunition on Friday morning.

The recovered weapons include 80 maxin guns, five wirelesses, a high powered radio, a machine gun and 9,754 rounds of bullets.

RAB 9 Commanding Officer Riad Hasan Rabbani briefed the media about the arms recovery at a press conference in the afternoon.

He said: “Acting on a tip-off, RAB recovered the arms from two bunkers of a hill in the forest.”

The RAB official said their drive in the forest will be continued.

On Wednesday, RAB personnel recovered three machine guns, four barrels and eight magazines from Satchhari forest.

The law enforcers also recovered a high-powered radio set used for communications.

On September 2, nine SMGs, one SMC, one meta gun, one sniper telescope sight, two LMGs, six SLRs, six auto rifles and 2,400 rounds of ammo were recovered from the forest.

Some 222 pieces of 40m rocket shells, 248 rocket launcher charges and other warheads were recovered from the forest on June 3.

In another drive on June 9, the RAB personnel recovered 633 rounds of 7.62 mm bullets, 54 rounds of 12.54 mm bullets and a 37-inch long barrel of a machine-gun from the forest.
